The following is a text version of the original publication. -- To: Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services waiver providers and consumers From: Nicole Norvell, Director, Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services Re: Waiver Amendments Approved Date: June 20, 2014 The Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) recently announced Medicaid disability eligibility changes. Effective June 1, 2014, Indiana Medicaid changed the eligibility requirements for individuals who are aged, blind and disabled, as well as the Medicare Savings Program. These changes streamlined the eligibility/determination process, eliminated the unpopular spend down program and ultimately made health insurance coverage available to more low-income Hoosiers. More information is available on the FSSA Medicaid Disability Eligibility Changes webpage. To implement these changes, all Indiana Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services waivers operated within FSSA had to be amended, which include the two waivers administered by the Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services (DDRS). The Community Integration and Habilitation Waiver (IN.0378.R02.06) and the Family Supports Waiver (IN.0387.R02.04) amendments were approved by CMS with an effective date of June 1, 2014, and are available on the DDRS Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services webpage.
Questions pertaining to these amendments may be directed to [email protected].
