In INARF's efforts to provide information and opportunities to members for their benefit or that of the individuals in their programs, we want to inform you of an apartment that is available for rent in the Indianapolis area. Englewood Loft Apartments, located at 1249 North Alabama Street in Indianapolis, has a two bedroom accessible apartment available for move in on March 13, 2015. The rent for the apartment is $742.00 a month and is one of their 60% set-aside Section 42 apartments. In order to qualify, the person must have no more than $27,060.00 annually in gross income (income limit changes with additional tenants). If you are interested in the apartment or would like additional information, please contact Dave Henthorn, Property Manager, via e-mail at [email protected] or via phone at (317) 638-3080. INARF member Developmental Services, Inc. (DSI) has named Shane Burton as the agency’s new Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Bill Hadar, who retired in January after leading the organization for over 28 years. Burton has 23 years of experience at DSI, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer. The decision to appoint Burton was made through a special selection committee comprised of DSI board members as well as Smith & Syberg, a Columbus, Indiana executive search firm. Over 140 professionals from INARF member agencies braced the cold to attend yesterday’s Quarterly Professional Interest Section Meeting in Indianapolis. Among the excellent collection of presentations were an in-depth review of modern marketing trends by Tom Hirons and a discussion on ethics and diversity by INARF favorite Karl Ahlrichs. It is with a heavy heart that INARF marks the passing of Steve Savage, Executive Director of the Arc of Greater Boon County. Mr. Savage, a strong advocate for individuals with disabilities and a regular presenter at INARF trainings, died unexpectedly last week following a heart attack. His contributions to the industry, and his well-known sense of humor, will be missed. A memorial service is being planned for March 7th at 1:00 pm at the North United Methodist Church, 3808 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. |
