The House Ways and Means committee’s FSSA budget presentation is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 10:15 a.m. The agency’s original scheduled presentation conflicted with the Governor’s HIP.2.0 announcement so it was postponed to Feb. 3rd. Indiana’s Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning (OECOSL) is partnering with Early Learning Indiana to offer nearly $500,000 in grants to early learning providers. As Indiana plans implementation of its first publicly-funded Pre-Kindergarten in pilot counties (Allen, Jackson, Lake, Marion, and Vanderburgh), the grants are intended to ensure that there is enough capacity to ensure that families have several choices of quality programs. The Bureau of Quality Improvement Services (BQIS) released a Save the Date announcement (attached) for a National Core Indicator (NCI) “101” Webinar being held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 1:00PM until approximately 2:00PM The webinar, hosted by BQIS, is open to all Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services (DDRS) approved providers. The purpose of this webinar is to ensure providers have an overall understanding of the NCI survey, its purpose, and the type of information it can generate.
Today, the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS) released the final version of the changes planned for Vocational Rehabilitation Employment Services Rates, including a description of the "Hybrid" Service Model that will take the place of current Results Based Funding (RBF) on July 1, 2015. Based upon the feedback of INARF's VR Work Group and the provider community, several key issues were addressed in the final version, including reimbursement rates and service definitions.

Earlier this month, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released an advance copy of revised Interpretive Guidelines for the Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) State Operations Manual. These Guidelines, commonly referenced as "Appendix J," are developed to clarify the intent Medicaid's Conditions of Participation. The new version will take effect on February 15, 2015. |
