The Friends of Opportunity Enterprises Raise over $46,000!

9/27/2021

August 30, 2021 – Valparaiso Country Club, Valparaiso IN: While many organizations hold golf outings in support of their mission, the annual One Amazing Golf Outing hosted by the Friends of Opportunity Enterprises (OE) truly is unique. It all began with a group of gentlemen who love golf and wanted to do something great for their community. Now 14 years later, the annual One Amazing Golf Outing is larger than ever!
On August 30, with perfect golfing weather, the 14th Annual One Amazing Golf Outing was a true success, raising over $46,000 to help bridge the gap from what services OE is required to provide to what programs men and women with disabilities served by OE deserve.

“This event is titled the, One Amazing Golf Outing, and it truly is an amazing event because of the hard work and dedication of the Friends of OE Golf Committee.” states Amy Wulf, Events Specialist for OE.

“We have a dynamite committee that wants to provide the best possible experience to our golfers. We accomplished this and our golfers responded. I am so grateful to my fellow committee members and the community for caring so much about the clients our organization serves,” says Christopher Runnion, Chair of the Friends of OE Golf Committee and OE Board Member.

In addition to Committee Chair Christopher Runnion, The Friends of OE Golf Committee consists of the following members, Senator Ed Charbonneau who serves as the Title Sponsor of the event, Dennis Smith, Tim Warner, Douglas Dedelow, Mark Davidson, Dennis Smith, Sam Allie, Tyler Stiscak, and Rich Bugajski.

With a morning and afternoon flight, 38 foursomes and countless sponsors came together to make the event a huge success. Top sponsors include Senator Ed Charbonneau, Urschel Giving, Chester Inc., 1st Source Bank, First Merchants Bank, Steel Cities Steels, NIPSCO, Thorgren Tool & Molding, Alexander Chemical Corporation, Latimer LeVay Fyock LLC, St. Mary Medical Center, CATSI, Allegius Credit Union, Sauer’s Buick, Harley Davidson of Valparaiso and CS Elements Travel.

“As an agency the size of OE, we depend on public support. Thanks to the Friends of OE, the One Amazing Golf Outing is another way for the community to support our organization, and have a fun day doing it,” Neil Samahon, president and CEO states.

Opportunity Enterprises strives to create a fully integrated community where life for individuals with disabilities is valuable, purposeful and fulfilling.
