Tangram's Workforce Accelerator Matches Individuals with Disabilities with Potential Jobs11/25/2015
An innovative new website, launched earlier this year by INARF Member Tangam, is matching job-seeking individuals with disabilities with open positions at companies looking to hire. The site, called the Workforce Accelerator, is similar to a dating site that matches individuals based on compatibility. Instead, the Workforce Accelerator asks individuals looking for employment to answer questions about their work preferences, experiences, and abilities. Businesses create job postings with information about the essential functions of the job and the site runs an algorithm to assess the "compatibility" of the job seeker and the position. When the match is 80% or greater, the job seeker receives information about the position or is contacted directly by the company.
Over twenty businesses have posted positions on the site, and more than 500 individuals have created profiles. Tangram's goal is to increase the number of job candidates using the database to at least 3,000 within the next few months. INARF applauds Tangram for their commitment to aiding individuals with disabilities in finding employment, which reflects the creative and entrepreneurial spirit of INARF Members.
