.On February 13, fourteen members of the INARF Training and Professional Development and Leadership Development Professional Interest Section Steering Committees gathered with staff for their Annual Planning Retreat. Realizing their complimentary purposes, these two committees joined forces to develop a singular, coordinated calendar of professional development activities While considering feedback from recent event evaluations, the committees focused dialogue on current trends impacting our industry that will position members to be ahead of the curve. Additionally, in light of the INARF Board's Strategic Framework, the committees suggested exploring the following adjustments: exploration of alternative formats for delivering the professional development events; research and offering of continuing education units for Behavioral Consultants; merging of the committees tasked with increasing the bench strength of INARF members; and incorporating regularopportunities for members to share promising practices that are earning praise and enhancing the way services are delivered. Accomplishing these strategies would be a Home Run for the 2014 calendar year! Please watch the INARF website and future editions of ONLINE for details of the 2014 INARF Professional Development Opportunities coming your way. In the event you have an interest in expanding your knowledge in an area that would enhance the services you deliver, or if you have recently participated in a professional development event that you would recommend to the membership, please contact Nanette Hagedorn at [email protected] or at the INARF Office 317/634-4957.
