INARF member and State Use employment provider Rauch Inc. was recently recognized by Louisville Business First as one of Louisville, KY’s largest manufacturers. Rauch Industries, a manufacturing division of Rauch, ranked #34 in its 2015 list. With about 50,000 square feet of total manufacturing space, Rauch Industries has provided services for about 350 national and regional companies.
Bettye Dunham, Rauch CEO, attributed the success to three things: An open door policy, individual development, and benefits. With Rauch Industries’ open door policy there’s no waiting list for companies who want work performed, or for individuals of at least 18-years-old who fit an admission criterion. Individuals with disabilities who may be new to manufacturing, Individual Service Plans are created outlining specialized production goals and work habits to achieve. Lastly, the benefits of being accepted into a work environment permeate in many ways. Employees are not only able to earn an income, but find that the job training can lead to work outside of Rauch.
“Certainly financially it allows [workers with disabilities] to contribute to their own needs,” said Dunham. “In terms of families, just like you and me, we want to have a job where we’re feeling we’re contributing not only to our own life but contributing to the community. For them, it’s their place of work to come and be able to participate in society in the same way that you or I do.” Comments are closed.
