This week, is the seventh week of the General Assembly session and three short weeks until the March 14th statutory deadline for the end of session. Senate Bill 11, ABLE savings accounts for persons with a disability, was recommitted to the House Ways and Means Committee and received a hearing this morning, passing out of Committee with a vote of 21 to 0. The Bill will proceed to the full House for a vote. Members are encouraged to contact their Representatives today and ask them to support the bill. Tomorrow, INARF will host our Statehouse Day where 10 members and partner organizations will gather to meet legislators and distribute information about their organizations. We appreciate everyone’s interest and are hoping to expand the number of members that can participate during the 2017 legislative session.
INARF has learned that legislators are hoping to expedite the legislative process and adjourn by March 10th in preparation of the Big Ten Basketball Tournament. The tournament will result in a shortage of all downtown Indianapolis hotel rooms, leaving them with nowhere to stay. If you have any questions, please contact Katy Stafford-Cunningham at katy@inarf.org. For a full list of Bills being tracked, click here. Comments are closed.
