INARF member Peak Community Services will undergo a leadership transition this coming year. Don Weikle, who has served as Peak Community’s CEO since 2006, recently announced his intentions to retire on January 29, 2016. Beginning his work for people with intellectual disabilities in 1972, Don has served in a variety of direct support, supervisory, and senior management positions in Nebraska and Indiana. The Board of Directors at Peak Community have begun the search to fill Weikle’s shoes.
“The support of this community for Peak Community Services has been incredible. I honor the work of all of our staff in providing internationally accredited services to people with intellectual abilities.” Weikle said. “I thank the Board for the privilege of being CEO for this organization for nearly ten years. Lastly, I thank the clients of Peak Community Services for continuing to teach me new lessons about life every day. I will truly miss all of those I have come to know. As Bob Hope always closed with, ‘Thanks for the memories.’” Comments are closed.
