INARF's national partner ANCOR, released the following information regarding the Official Hearing for Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar. The Senate Finance Committee has set a hearing for next week (Tuesday, January 9, 10 AM ET) for the official hearing on the nomination of Alex Azar to serve as our next Secretary of Health and Human Services (you may recall the Senate HELP Committee held a hearing last year but this will be the official one in the proper Committee of jurisdiction). We may see Mr. Azar confirmed as early as next week as a result of this hearing occurring. If you would like to watch please see the links below that should both stream live and archive video. ANCOR will send a summary of the hearing and highlight all Medicaid discussions!
Also, in case you missed it, Chairman Hatch (R-UT) of the Senate Finance Committee announced his upcoming retirement which means there will be a new leader of the Senate Finance Committee which oversees Medicaid legislation - who that will be is yet to be determined but they will help shape Medicaid priorities for the future!
