COVID-19 Provider Grant Applications are Now Open

As shared earlier, Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services is pleased to continue to offer grant opportunities to its provider network to address COVID-19 impacts for the second quarter of 2021. 

BDDS is offering two grant programs, one targeted to OBRA day service providers and one targeted to certain home- and community-based services waiver services and intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities providers.

The grant application will be open through July 16, 2021.

As a reminder, details for the two grant opportunities are listed below:

• HCBS/ICF provider relief grants: are intended to support HCBS waiver and group home providers in addressing increased COVID-19 related expenses related to the delivery services incurred in the second quarter of 2021. The total amount of the grant will be capped at 4.2% of Medicaid claims processed for the period from March 1, 2019, through December 31, 2019, for the services listed below. PLEASE NOTE – as previously announced, the total grant amount may be further reduced in order to stay within the remaining available dollars for this grant program.
  • Adult day service (All Levels and Units)
  • Day habilitation (Individual and All Group Sizes)
  • Pre-vocational services (All Group Sizes)
  • Residential habilitation and support hourly
  • Residential habilitation and support daily
  • Respite
  • Participant assistance and care
  • Structured gamily caregiving
  • Transportation
  • Wellness coordination
  • Workplace assistance
  • Intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities
• OBRA day service sustainability grants are intended to support to support OBRA providers who provide habilitation and pre-vocational habilitation under the OBRA program and had to close or suspend services because of COVID-19. The grant will be for the second quarter of 2021 and will be based on 75% of the average OBRA claims processed for the period from March 1, 2019, through December 31, 2019, less any claims for services that the provider was able to render during the grant period.
