On November 20th, Janus Developmental Services, Inc. announced that it had received a grant from the Grainger Foundation. The grant was recommended by Brian Peterson and Joshua Garey, Market Managers of W.W. Grainger, Inc.’s, Indianapolis locations. “We strive to continue to make a substantial and sustainable difference in the lives of those we serve. We are very grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its generosity,” said Christina Sorensen, Interim President and CEO of Janus.
The grant will be used in several of Janus’ programs. Much needed equipment will be purchased for its Work Experience program, which offers individuals with developmental, physical and intellectual disabilities the opportunity to learn basic employment skills. Additionally, the grant will help support the Doorways program, which builds upon the educational efforts of local school systems, and the Community Employment Program, which focuses on the transition from being a student to employed adulthood. “We are proud to recommend the programs offered by Janus Developmental Services” said Peterson. “We understand the need for specialized programs and services to assist individuals living with disabilities in our community.” Grainger has been a part of the Central Indiana business community for 72 years as the leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair, and operating products.
