IHCP Updates - Published 1/10

The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) posted the following important information to the provider website at https://www.in.gov/medicaid/providers/ on January 10, 2019, (unless alternate date is noted).

Provider Reference Modules 
Obstetrical and Gynecological Services (see the module for a complete list of changes) 
    • Added the Pelvic Examination section 
    • Clarified requirements and added a statement about retroactive eligibility in the Informed Consent and Acknowledgement Statement for Hysterectomies section 
    • Added the Prior Authorization for Total or Partial Hysterectomy section 
    • Updated the Billing for Pregnancy-Related Services section 
    • Clarified information in the Prenatal Visits section and added a note box defining normal pregnancy 
    • Added the HIV Testing of Pregnant Women and Newborns section 
    • Added the Prenatal Immunizations section 
    • Updated the Injections for the Prevention of Preterm Delivery section with new policies regarding Makena 
    • Updated the Prenatal Ultrasounds (Sonography/Echography) section 
    • Updated the Early Deliveries section 
    • Updated the Multiple Births section 
    • Updated the Birthing Centers section and its subsections, including adding a list of service limitations

    • Updated the following table: 
        • Procedure Codes for Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy

    • All codes were reviewed 
    • Removed tables for delivery-only, postpartum-care-only, and first trimester fetal nuchal translucency ultrasound procedure codes
