IHCP Update: Published August 24

The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) posted the following important information to the provider website at in.gov/medicaid/providers on August 24, 2021 (unless alternate date is noted).

BT202173 – IHCP updates PEPW and PE applications to include option for text messages; revises acceptance letters
BT202172 – IHCP to reimburse administration for third dose of specified COVID-19 vaccines

• IHCP adds codes to Podiatry Services Codes
• IHCP to mass reprocess or mass adjust claims for certain injection and other services that denied incorrectly
• COVID-19 vaccine and vaccine administration procedure codes awaiting FDA approval

Pharmacy Services (see module for full list of changes)

• Replaced names with title in the mailing address for the FSSA pharmacy benefit contract manager
• Updated the fax number for OptumRx MAC Provider Relations
• Updated the OptumRx Clinical and Technical Help Desk fax number references
• Updated the note in the Dispense-as-Written Codes section
• Replaced specific reimbursement amount with a reference to the IHCP fee schedules and added COVID-19 to the list of vaccines in the Vaccination Administration Fee section
• Updated the email address in the OTC Drug Formulary and Pharmacy Supplements Formulary section
• Updated Table 5 – Preferred Diabetes Supply List
• Updated the asterisked notes in the Pharmacy Copayment section
• Updated Indiana Code reference in the Returned Medications section
• Updated the Proof of Delivery section

Laboratory Services

• Specified in the Introduction and Billing Procedures for Laboratory Services sections that the ordering practitioner must be enrolled in the IHCP
• Added a note in the Billing Procedures for Laboratory Services section regarding handling and conveyance
• Added the Clinical Laboratory Interpretation Services section
• Added a note in the Specimen Collection section with an exception for COVID-19
• Added the Travel for Specimen Collection section
• Updated the Handling and Conveyance of Specimens From Doctor’s Office to Laboratory section
• Listed types of genetic testing in the Policies and Procedures for Specific Laboratory Services section
