Re: ICD-10 Implementation
Date: September 23, 2015
Effective October 1, 2015, the use of International Classification of Diseases -10 (ICD) codes will be required on all Medicaid claims. Waiver providers will need to utilize ICD-10 codes rather than ICD-0 codes on all billing. An Indiana Health Care Programs (IHCP) ICD-10 Bulletin has been issued which details how these changes affect Medicaid waiver providers. The bulletin can be found at:
Please review the IHCP Bulletin and begin submitting Medicaid claims with ICD-10 codes on October 1, 2015. Claims that do not have a valid ICD-10 code on them as of this date will be denied. There is a link at the bottom of the IHCP Bulletin concerning where to direct questions on ICD-10.
