Earlier this week, Eric Holcomb began his service as the 51st Lieutenant Governor of Indiana. Holcomb took the oath of office Thursday, hours after his nomination for Mike Pence's second in command was confirmed by the Indiana House and Senate.
As INARF previously reported, former Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann resigned from office as she seeks new opportunities. The Indiana General Assembly celebrated Ellspermann's final day as lieutenant governor Wednesday. Governor Pence announced Holcomb’s nomination last month.
After taking the oath, Holcomb said he was excited to get started in his new role.
"Having the opportunity to serve this state; the state that I love is a privilege," said Holcomb. "I shall always bring forward my very best every day, just as my 50 predecessors have, by example."
INARF looks forward to the opportunity to work with Eric Holcomb in the future and educate him about our industry and issues that impact Hoosiers with disabilities.
