Coming this January, the Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation (MEAF) will be accepting grant applications to help make changes for the better for youth with disabilities.
MEAF supports 501(c)(3) organizations dedicated to offering innovative projects that help youth with disabilities develop the leadership and employment skills they need to succeed, particularly for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The Foundation also considers projects which help break down barriers to employment and increase job opportunities for young people with disabilities entering the workforce, including returning veterans with disabilities.
Youth is defined by MEAF as person from birth to 26 years old. Grants can range from 10k to 75k and around six to 12 grants are awarded each year. Some success stories from MEAF include categories in employment preparation, leadership development, and ability awareness.
