The Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services is committed to working collaboratively with individuals, families, case managers and providers to support the individuals using supports, and services through BDDS to live their vision of a good life. Many of the individuals receiving BDDS supports and services are fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
The COVID-19 vaccine provides protection against the virus, including the delta variant, but the effect may wear off some over time. Individuals who are vaccinated may receive a booster dose to keep the vaccine effective for longer
The Centers for Disease Control issued Booster Eligibility Guidance. Individuals who meet the CDC guidelines outlined below are eligible for a booster.
Providers and case managers should discuss the booster shot with individuals and support individuals in obtaining the booster shot if desired. Appointments can be scheduled online through the Indiana Department of Health’s vaccine website or by calling 211.
More information is available regarding COVID-19 and the vaccine on IDOH’s website. The DDRS is a program of the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration. If you have questions about DDRS programs and services, visit us online at www.DDRS.In.gov.
