CALL TO ACTION: Ask Your Senator to Support an Appropriation for Waiver Case Management in HB 10013/19/2019
The Senate continues to debate which appropriations will be included in the budget as they craft the Senate version of HB 1001. INARF Staff and consultants continue to advocate for the inclusion of an appropriation for Case Management in the budget bill, and we need to ensure that each Senator hears from as many constituents as possible regarding the Case Management appropriation request. Thus, WE NEED YOUR HELP REACHING OUT TO YOUR SENATOR OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS THEY DISCUSS WHAT WILL BE INCLUDED. What you can do to help: Contact your Senator to request their support for our Case Management appropriation request to be included in the budget. At the bottom of this message, you will see a link to our Call to Action page where we have drafted a pre-written message requesting your Senator’s support for an appropriation for Case Management to be included in the budget (HB 1001). The message specifically addresses Case Management Funding and can be used to re-enforce the Case Management appropriation request in the INARF legislative agenda. What to include in your message: There is a higher likelihood that your Senator will consider your communication and the funding request if each message they receive is unique and personalized. Thus, we request that you add a personalized message in the Message Body box describing why you care about Case Management and including specific personal experiences about how Case Management services impact the lives of people with disabilities. To ask your Senator to support the Case Management appropriation request, simply visit our Call to Action page, enter your information, add your personalized message about the importance of Case Management in the Message Body box, and press send. How to expand the outreach and keep the momentum going: Share this Call to Action with your staff, Boards of Directors, individuals served, families, and all of your networks. A document with instructions and screen shots explaining how to sign up for Voter Voice is also attached for your reference.
