The Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services (BDDS) released a document yesterday charting "The Path Forward" for waiver redesign efforts. This document is a follow up from the 2020 initial concept paper that planned out the last two years of this process. The document released yesterday reestablishes the Bureau's commitment to waiver redesign now that the pandemic is over and charts their direction for continued efforts. INARF will continue to be involved in the waiver redesign process, and we will engage members whenever possible to provide input. You can find all necessary information in the announcement below:
As a follow up to the 2020 Initial Concept Paper the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services is pleased to share The Path Forward document, which outlines key system redesign areas where the bureau will focus efforts over the next two years. These key areas were identified based on priorities stakeholders have identified as critical areas of need, and available resources and system capacity considerations. BDDS continues to focus on the input of individuals and families receiving services as the primary driver of priorities and system changes. The bureau will use The Path Forward format to regularly update stakeholders on the ongoing developments, targeted areas of change and ways for individuals and families to engage in continued input and feedback. Please continue to look for periodic updates to The Path Forward on our website devoted to waiver and system redesign. The DDRS is a program of the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration.
