The Autism Society of Indiana is inviting incoming 11th and 12th graders (16 – 21 years old) with various disabilities who have exhibited leadership and self-advocacy skills within their school or community to its 2015 Indiana Youth Leadership Forum. Interested parties should have a strong interest in pursuing post-secondary education and/or employment after high school. The Indiana Youth Leadership Forum (IN-YLF) believes it can impact high school students with disabilities to reach their potential by providing opportunities and tools in leadership, legislation and self-advocacy to enrich their personal and professional lives. One way IN-YLF achieves this is with a 5 night 6 day training conference in a safe environment in which these young individuals can learn and practice these talents with the help and support of adults within the community. INARF has participated in this Forum, and encourages members to reach out to individuals and families to inform them of this exciting opportunity to develop strong leadership and advocacy skills. Interested individuals will need to complete an application phase and have two letters of recommendations. This program is free to those who are accepted. For more information, please contact Chris Bailey, IN-YLF Coordinator (800) 609 8449 x67 / [email protected]). Comments are closed.
