At the December 18th State Budget Committee meeting the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) presented their Medicaid forecast. The forecast was based on a variety of assumptions, including implementation of HIP 2.0 effective January 1, 2015 and continuing “cost savings initiatives” through SFY2017. Those initiatives include continuing a 3% reduction to hospital services, home health services, and nursing home and a 1% reduction on ICFs/IDD. INARF will be working closely with its governmental affairs team to advocate on this issue. All projections will be updated in April prior to the end of the legislative session.
Kevin Carroll, a student at Yorktown High School in New York, needs your help. He has noticed a gap in autism research that hit very close to home. While there is ample research on Autism and how it impacts parental stress and relationships, there has been very little study on how parental behavior and parenting style impact these same relationships. Kevin wants to identify trends that create strong parent-child relationships. After all, he has a lot of experience with this topic.
Effective January 1, 2015, INARF member Anthony Wayne Services (AWS) will be known as Benchmark Human Services. While the name will change, ownership and leaders will remain the same and because of this, Benchmark anticipates a seamless transition for all including the individuals served, parents/guardians, their employees, and business associates.
In partnership with the Indiana Family Health Council, INARF member New Hope Services in Jeffersonville, Indiana, will offer a Certified Indiana Navigator to help Indiana residents sign up for health insurance. The role of the Navigator is to assist consumers with the application process for obtaining health insurance coverage under the federally-facilitated Marketplace, or with state-based insurance affordability programs such as Medicaid, Family Planning Eligibility Program (SPA), the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), or the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP).
As part of INARF’s continuing commitment to ensuring members are informed, we have compiled updates on key issues and activities in which the INARF Board of Directors, Governmental Affairs Committee, and Staff have been engaged in on your behalf (Members Only).
