Yesterday at the Quarterly Professional Interest Section General Session, INARF launched the System of Excellence Program, a resource repository for members on the INARF website. The INARF System of Excellence Workgroup has begun sharing resources and consultants for reference and use by INARF members, but we need your help to expand the program and the repository.
Nearly 200 members attended INARF's Quarterly Professional Interest Section Meeting in Indianapolis on November 18. The morning began with five concurrent Professional Interest Section meetings, featuring a variety of topics and presentations, including Attracting and Retaining Direct Support Professionals lead by five Direct Support Professionals from member organizations, HIP Employer Benefit Link Program presented by Kayla Hsu, HIP Link Outreach Coordinator from the FSSA, and The State of Manufacturing by Brian Burton, President & CEO of the Indiana Manufacturers Association to name a few.
INARF Member Damar Services, Inc. will be featured in the documentary film: Children of the Dumping Ground. Filmed in association with Calamari Productions, this documentary follows the story of Justin, a 14-year-old living with developmental disabilities who became tangled in the American juvenile justice system. Karen Grau, director of the film, follows Justin for six-years. Eventually, Justin would be lead to Damar Services and a life outside of prison walls. This triumph came with much help from many dedicated people
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has announced an upcoming free webinar about loan programs for providers. “The Basics of Section 232” will provide an overview of the requirements for participating in the Section 232 program which provides FHA-insured loans for healthcare facilities for those in need of supportive services, including settings for individuals with disabilities. The presentation will be given by Tim Gruenes, Director of Office of Residential Care Facilities’ Asset Management and Lender Relations, and Jeremy Robitaille, Healthcare Account Executive.
