With Congress returning to Washington DC next week, health care is regaining prominence in the nation’s political discourse. Find information about the hearings here. Eight governors released their ideas for health care stabilization last Thursday, which is expected to generate more internal GOP discussions – read more here. ANCOR has heard that Senator Graham (R-SC), Senator Cassidy (R-LA), and Senator Heller (R-NV) are planning on proposing legislation to move the ACA into block grants and Medicaid into per capita caps. ANCOR is hearing from both Republicans and Democrats on the Hill that this is a longshot bill and there is little appetite for it. The Family and Social Services Administration, Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS) have released a Request For Funding (RFF) for community agencies throughout the state to provide case management services to carry out the Increasing Independence Program.
