The following update was received from DDRS on May 8 in regards to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Unified State Plan public comment.
The Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS) wishes to thank stakeholders and members of the public for submitting comment and feedback on the amendment to the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) portion of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Unified State Plan, which pertains to BRS’s request to the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) to enter into an order of selection. BRS has reviewed and considered the public comments received. BRS does not anticipate any substantial revisions to the amended section of the State Plan and will move forward with submitting the amendment to RSA. The order of selection will be implemented upon approval of the State Plan amendment by RSA. The timeframe for when BRS might receive that approval is unknown; however, we do not anticipate implementation occurring prior to July 1, 2017. "LIFEDesigns CFO of 19 years Nancy Crandall retired. AHCA in U.S. House of Representatives May 5, 2017 – Yesterday the U.S. House of Representatives passed the American Health Care Act (AHCA) by a slim margin with a vote of 217 in favor and 213 against. ANCOR is extremely saddened by this vote, not only because of the highly dangerous changes the bill makes to insurance coverage for people with disabilities. We are profoundly disappointed that the provisions of the bill that fundamentally restructure and cut the Medicaid program – the first time since the inception of the program – were such a minor focus for Congressional members in the "People's House" that voted for it. In fact, only a few minutes of floor time during the debate mentioned these monumental changes. The Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services (DDRS) sent the following information out today.
2016 Mortality Data Review Report available The Bureau of Quality Improvement Services (BQIS), within the Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services, monitors services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities administered by organizations and providers throughout the state of Indiana. Part of the function of BQIS is to review the deaths of all individuals receiving services through the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services. The purpose of the mortality review is to identify trends, develop recommendations and bring about improvement in both provider-specific and system wide service delivery. The information and data collected during the mortality review process is reflected in the annual Mortality Data Review Report. The 2016 report is now available on the BQIS Web page or you can view it by clicking here. We hope you found this information useful. If you have any questions, please contact the INARF office. |
