The Senate continues to debate which services will receive additional funding in the Senate version of the budget bill (HB 1001), which will be released on Thursday. REGARDLESS OF IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SENT A MESSAGE TO YOUR SENATOR OR IF YOU HAVEN'T, WE NEED YOU TO CONTACT YOUR SENATOR TODAY AS THEY DECIDE WHAT WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE SENATE VERSION OF THE BUDGET BILL.
Thanks to your outreach and education, the Senate Health and Provider Services Committee passed House Bill 1488 as amended out of committee on April 3 by a vote of 9-0. INARF, The Arc of Indiana, and FSSA worked to develop an amendment that cleans up some technical language on the 1102 Task Force, as well as language that explains the plan to end Order of Selection for Vocational Rehabilitation services. As INARF staff anticipated, the bill was amended to incorporate this new language during today’s Health and Provider Services Committee meeting.

Due to a scheduling conflict with the DDRS LifeCourse Framework Event on May 16, INARF staff and the Community Supports Co-Chairs have decided to cancel the May 16 Community Supports Professional Interest Section meeting. INARF encourages members to attend the DDRS LifeCourse Framework Event that day. INARF has learned that the DDRS LifeCourse Framework event has met capacity.
