INARF Member Janus Developmental Services, Inc. (Janus) announced that Christina Sorensen would become its newest President/CEO. The unanimous decision was announced by Joy Barrett, Chair of the Janus Developmental Services Board of Directors. Sorensen has led Janus as its Interim President/CEO since November 2014; the Board’s decision to move the role out of ‘interim’ status takes effect immediately.
Pathfinder Kids Kampus, the child care division of INARF member Pathfinder Services, will be holding its 24th Annual Pathfinder Kids Kampus Golf Outing on May 13th. Pathfinder Kids Kampus is looking for donors, sponsors, and golfers to support this event and the children served. The day after the Senate passed its $31.5-billion budget, the Revenue Forecast for the 2015-17 fiscal years was revealed to the State Budget committee, indicating a $318-million reduced projection over the Dec. 2014 revised forecast numbers (with which revenues have not been keeping pace in recent months). The reduction was attributed to various factors including slow employment growth. Budget Director Brian Bailey took the opportunity to advocate for maintaining the nearly $2-billion surplus and adopting a conservative 2015-17 budget. On June 12, 2015 the Indiana Adult Guardianship Office will host its 2015 Indiana Adult Guardianship Symposium. The symposium will address issues in advocacy and decision-making across the state and in local communities. The program will offer up to 6 CEU hours for National Certified Guardian credits. INARF Member Abilities Services, Inc. (ASI) has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build its 15th home in the Crawfordsville area for people with disabilities. The home will be built on a lot purchased by ASI that borders the west side of the Wabash College campus, giving the homes future residents the opportunity to be more integrated into the community, have access to more green space and be within walking distance of various social events.
