The Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services has posted the following update: As part of efforts by the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) to comply with the federal Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Final Rule, the Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services (DDRS) will begin validating the responses to the Non-Residential Self- Assessments that were completed in October 2016 as outlined in the HCBS Statewide Transition Plan. DDRS will be reviewing provider documentation as part of the validation process of assessing HCBS settings required by the HCBS Final Rule. The intent of this process is to validate the information provided in the responses to the HCBS Non-Residential Provider Self-Assessment. Providers are not required to update or create new policies, procedures or any other related documentation. They will only be required to provide existing documentation that supports the responses to the self-assessments that were submitted.
A tutorial on the validation process for the non-residential self-assessment is posted on the FSSA webinars Web page as well as the HCBS Final Rule Statewide Transition Plan Web page under the DDRS heading. *BDDS is currently experiencing a technical issue with the tutorial and it will be posted soon. DDRS will be corresponding with providers on how to proceed the week of January 9, 2017. Providers will have until February 13, 2017, to submit documentation. A technical assistance webinar is scheduled during this time period to answer any questions and assist in the process. The information for the scheduled webinar is below: January 19, 2017, 2 p.m. URL: https://indiana.adobeconnect.com/bdds Participants will sign in as a guest using their name. Audio will be voice over internet, so participants will need to use speakers or headphones to hear the presentation Comments are closed.
