Earlier today, the Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services shared a special message from Governor Pence recognizing the important role of Direct Support Professionals and thanking them for their service.

-- To: Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services Providers From: Nicole Norvell, Director, Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services Re: Train-the-Trainer Core A/B Medication Administration Date: September 9, 2014 The Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services (DDRS) Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services (BDDS) will host a Train-the-Trainer Core A/B Medication Administration training session on October 10, 2014, at the Indiana Government Center South in Indianapolis. The Training Session will be held in Conference Center Room 22 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and is for agency nurses who work for approved BDDS providers. Once the training is completed, agency nurses will be approved to train agency staff. Attendees must register for the training, as there is a 40 person limit for the session. -- Dear Fellow Hoosiers: This week is Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week. I would like to recognize and thank all of the Direct Support Professionals who support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the State of Indiana. These Hoosiers have a heart for service and come alongside those with disabilities in our communities every day. Thanks to their dedication and commitment, people with disabilities in Indiana receive the support and services they so deserve. Indianapolis, IN - The New Hope of Indiana Board of Directors has selected Allison Wharry as the organization’s chief executive officer.
Indiana Senator Ron Grooms of Jeffersonville was honored as Legislator of the Year by the Indiana Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (INARF), a membership organization whose purpose is to provide a unified voice for the disability service provider community and build its members’ capabilities to deliver quality services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities.
