As INARF reported last year, the Departments of Labor and Education will likely publish the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Final Rule this spring. Many of INARF’s national partners, including ACCSES and SUPRA, Inc., have offered comments on the drafted regulations asINARF did last year. However, we are still concerned that the DOL and DOE will publish the final rule without addressing many of our concerns. Although many of you have already submitted comments, we encourage you to contact your Members of Congress to educate them about the proposed regulations and your concerns no later than March 31.
The Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA), Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), and High Performance Government Network (HPGN) have collaborated to create a curriculum of courses to help build capacity in Indiana's hometowns.
INARF’s national partner ANCOR has announced a new webinar entitled “The Skinny on Rate setting Re-Design: What's Really Behind Those Assessment Tools?” to be held Thursday, March 24 from 1-2:30 PM. The webinar will focus on states’ obligations regarding rate-setting, what is happening in states that are using the Supports Intensity Scale (SIS), how advocates in those states are influencing the rate-setting discussion, and how providers can successfully advocate for more transparency in rate-setting.
The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration has announced that they are seeking public input on the modified Statewide Transition Plan (STP) for Compliance with Home and Community-Based Services Final Rule. It is our understanding that the only modifications made to the DDRS portion of the plan are in response to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) questions related to the original transition plan, which CMS communicated in their Clarifications and/or Modifications required for Initial Approval (CMIA) letter.
The ninth week of the Indiana General Assembly session is winding down as the March 10 deadline for session quickly approaches. Critical bills INARF has been watching this session, including Senate Bill 11, Senate Bill 323, and House Bill 1012 will be heading to the Governor’s desk for his signature in the coming weeks.
