-- To: Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services waiver providers and consumers From: Nicole Norvell, Director, Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services Re: Waiver Amendments Approved Date: June 20, 2014 The Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) recently announced Medicaid disability eligibility changes. Effective June 1, 2014, Indiana Medicaid changed the eligibility requirements for individuals who are aged, blind and disabled, as well as the Medicare Savings Program. These changes streamlined the eligibility/determination process, eliminated the unpopular spend down program and ultimately made health insurance coverage available to more low-income Hoosiers. -- 1. How do providers know the health score of an individual they are serving? The health scores can be found in the Advocare system through the Provider Portal. 2. How do providers sign up for the Advocare Provider Portal? Nora Loechel, an Advocare representative, is working with providers to enroll in the Provider Portal. She can be reached at n.loechel@uadvocare.com. 3. What documentation is required for Wellness Coordination? The tools providers will utilize in Advocare will include the Wellness Assessment, the Risk Assessment Tool and the Wellness Plan. These are not available in Advocare at this time. Each of these tools will be available for full use by providers in the Advocare system on July 7, 2014. INARF recently submitted comments and recommendations for both the Community Integration and Habilitation Waiver re-write and the Vocational Rehabilitation State Plan.
In response to a series of articles in the Bloomington Herald Times about the direct support workforce crisis, INARF Members Stone Belt Arc and LifeDesigns are weighing in on the issue. For its part, Stone Belt organized a first of its kind community forum on May 21st titled "The Care Gap Crisis: A Community Discussion."
Former INARF CEOs Costa Miller and Jim Hammond were inducted into the ANCOR Legacy Leaders Circle on May 4th as part of ANCOR's annual conference activities.
