INARF Comments on Order of Selection and Amendment to VR Portion of the WIOA Unified State Plan4/21/2017
Last month, the Indiana Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS) announced their intent to seek approval to implement Order of Selection for Indiana’s VR program. BRS' plan to implement Order of Selection is outlined in the Draft Amendment to the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Services portion of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Unified State Plan. Earlier this month, INARF convened a workgroup of members to assist with the development of the Association's comments. Workgroup members included Rick Adams, Benchmark Human Services; Jim Allbaugh, Carey Services, Inc; Patrick Cockrum, Sycamore Services, Inc.; Bitta DeWees, Stone Belt Arc, Inc.; Jill Dunn, Bona Vista Programs, Inc.; Patrick Sandy, Easterseals Crossroads; Kathie Savich, Opportunity Enterprises, Inc.; and Cheryl Schade, LOGAN Community Resources, Inc.
Using the workgroup's recommendations, INARF staff developed draft comments and sent them to the workgroup and the INARF Governmental Affairs Committee for feedback. Based on the feedback of the workgroup and the Committee, INARF has developed our final comments and submitted them to DDRS and BRS for consideration. The comments are attached here for your reference.
