2008 Awards Brochure

We are pleased to announce that the INARF Annual Awards Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 during the 2008 INARF Annual Conference at the Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel and Suites.

The INARF membership conducts its awards ceremony with one purpose in mind - to recognize individuals, agencies, businesses and other organizations within the State of Indiana for extraordinary efforts on behalf of persons with disabilities.

Your assistance is critical to identify outstanding individuals / organizations in the areas of direct service, leadership, consumer accomplishments and key contributors.

Please distribute this information within your agency and encourage individuals to consider nominating someone for any of the mentioned categories.

Please note the submission deadline is Friday, December 7, 2007. We apologize that we will be unable to accept submissions postmarked after this date.

The Costa N. Miller Scholarship Award...

The fourth annual Costa N. Miller Scholarship Award will be presented at the 2008 INARF Annual Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. The annual scholarship, in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000), will be awarded to assist direct care staff of INARF members to pursue their lifelong dream of obtaining a college education. This scholarship award is made possible through contributions by friends, family and professional colleagues who pay tribute to Mr. Miller’s lifelong dedication to our industry through contributions to the Costa N. Miller Scholarship Fund. (SEE LETTER - PDF)

The Costa N. Miller Scholarship Award recipient must meet the following criteria:
Two (2) years minimum employment by an INARF member agency
Current enrollment in an undergraduate program
Grade point average (GPA) of 2.0

A version of the Costa N. Miller Scholarship Award Application is located to the side of this description for your use and/or for distribution within your agency to employees who meet the established criteria. The scholarship application should be submitted along with an essay on how the scholarship award will be used to further their work in the human service field. Applications should be submitted to the Selection Committee, in care of Nanette Wenclewicz, INARF, 615 N. Alabama Street, Suite 410, Indianapolis, IN 46204, or via fax at - (317) 634-3221, for their review and advancement to the INARF Board of Directors for final selection. The deadline for receipt of applications in the INARF office will be Tuesday, February 19, 2008.

 

Chairman's Award...

The Chairman's Award is presented to outstanding executives/administrators in the human service industry. Their entrepreneurial spirit, political acumen, ethical demeanor and professional posture are tools, which they use to further the intrests of their agency and those of their colleagues across the state.

Keystone Award...

The Keystone Award is presented to the most outstanding direct services professional employed in the Indiana service delivery system. Qualified candidates manifest, through personal attributes and dedication, the mission of the rehabilitation / habilitation industry. Candidates qualifying for this award must currently be employed as a direct-service professional, have been employed in a direct-service position for at least 3 years and actively participate in on-going professional development.

Achievement Award...

The Justin Dart Personal Achievement Award is presented to an individual who has participated in services through INARF member agencies and who has maximized his/her skills and abilities to achieve his/her chosen goals. Their work or contributions may include volunteerism, advocacy on behalf of disability issues, and/or upward mobility and hard work to reach their personal goals.

Partnership Award...

The Partnership Award is presented to a community individual, business, club, educational institution or corporation that has made significant contributions to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities and the agencies that serve them. They may also show their dedication to improving the lives of people with disabilities through innovative approaches to service delivery and by helping to form positive public images of people with disabilities.
