The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has issued notice that the due dates for providing forms 1095-B and 1095-C to employees have been extended. These forms are now due to be distributed to employees by March 31. Employers who file paper copies of their taxes must file the 1095-B and 1095-C forms with the IRS by March 31, and electronic filers must provide the forms to the IRS by June 30. The IRS specified in the notice that requests for extensions will not be granted. Employers may still request penalty relief for late filed forms if they can demonstrate they made reasonable efforts to timely prepare and file the form.
