Bill Hadar of Developmental Services, Inc. will be retiring after 28 years as DSI’s Chief Executive Officer and 14 years in other leadership roles effective January 16, 2015. Hadar, a Columbus, Indiana resident took over the top post in 1986 when DSI served seven counties and provided the leadership that has seen the organization grow to serve children and adults with disabilities in more than 40 counties. DSI experienced significant growth and service delivery success during Hadar’s tenure including the building expansion and service enhancement of DSI comprehensive facilities in Columbus, Greensburg, Madison, Scipio, Seymour, Terre Haute and New Castle, Indiana. This, coupled with considerable service growth, has helped DSI annual revenues grow more than four-fold annually. Over the nearly three decades under Hadar’s leadership DSI has never received less than a highest accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). He also successfully implemented the Carver Policy Governance model which has been recognized for excellence from accreditors. Hadar was also one of the key players in the creation of the Strategic Indiana Provider Network – a cooperative effort of service providers committed to providing better training and service delivery for individuals with disabilities throughout most of Indiana. Recent accomplishments for Hadar include starting a second Tax Credit Housing Project in Greensburg and the establishment of a Home Health Care LLC. “I want to sincerely thank all of the clients, family members, staff and board members that I have had the pleasure to have been associated with over the years.
