The Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services (DDRS) released the following notice regarding BDDS Portal core implementation.
On February 21, 2018, the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services (BDDS) will begin the data migration and transition activities from Advocare to the BDDS Portal. The first step in the transition will be moving information from Advocare to the BDDS Portal, which will mean that Advocare will no longer be available as of 12 a.m. EST, on Wednesday February 21, 2018. INsite will continue to be available at this time and will continue to be the system of record for BDDS waivers. On January 1, 2018, the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services (BDDS) implemented a change allowing an individual’s budget allocation approach under the Objective Based Allocation System (OBA) to no longer distribute individual budgets into three categories or ‘buckets’ for individuals receiving services through the Community Integration and Habilitation Waiver (CIH). Individuals will now be able to access their full budget allocation to support identified community integration needs through the person-centered planning process. Effective immediately, the Family Social Services Administration (FSSA) has decided to suspend current activities associated with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Home and Community Based Settings Rule (HCBS). This pause is an opportunity to regroup to better reflect the partnerships between FSSA, other agencies, and key stakeholders, including CMS, as we better understand how to meet our members’ needs. The Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services (DDRS) has posted the questions and answers the division received about the Request for Funding (RFF) announced on January 3, 2018, to the DDRS Announcements webpage.
This RFF is a grant opportunity for services described in Public Law (P.L. 217-2017) based on House Enrolled Act 1001. Applicants eligible for this RFF must be Indiana-based non-profit organizations that currently offer facility-based day services programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Applicants must have been in operation prior to January 1, 2009, and must not own, operate or manage supervised group living facilities. RFF proposals are due February 2, 2018, by 3 p.m. EST and specific information regarding the RFF is available by clicking here.
